The New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Is Setting The Internet Alight

The new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi hit the web early this morning and it’s as brilliant, as beautiful, and as mysterious as you’d expect it to be. Check it out below.

Star Wars. There’s nothing quite like it. There’s no franchise that comes close to capturing the levels of excitement people have about seeing the next instalment of the franchise set in a galaxy far, far away. People seem to lose it a bit when it comes to the space saga that George Lucas created all those years ago. Ever since Disney acquired the rights to the franchise, however, the mania seems to have been stepped up a notch, and with J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens playing so well with audiences, people are now more eager than ever for their next dose of Star Wars goodness, which comes in the form of Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

We already had a short teaser trailer, but early this morning, Lucasfilm dropped the first full-length trailer, and it was good, so good. Johnson’s film seems to be a bit of a departure from what we’ve come to expect from the Star Wars franchise. It feels a lot darker and seems to be exploring bigger themes than any of the previous films did.

What else should you expect from writer/director Rian Johnson, who’s got a track record of making more unconventional movies that push the boundaries of cinema? Johnson had previously warned people not to watch the trailer if you wanted to avoid spoilers, however, you can check out the trailer for yourselves below.

It certainly seems as though Johnson has been allowed to put his stamp on this Star Wars film, which is nice to see, especially after all the talk of Lucasfilm firing directors and not allowing them to fulfil their vision. It looks as if Johnson was given carte blanche to do what he wanted with The Last Jedi, and it should be all the better for it. There’s so much to unpack from this first trailer, and I will do that in a later article, but for now, simply bask in the glory of this impeccable Star Wars trailer, and get tickets while you still can. They seem to be selling out fast.
