New Alien Series To Start Filming Very Soon

It’s been revealed that the new Alien series from FX is going to start filming in Thailand and in Eastern Europe in the next few months. This series is easily one of my most anticipated shows, and I cannot wait to see what creator/writer and director, Noah Hawley has in store for us.

This series is being made by FX, and it will be released on Hulu in the United States. We still don’t know officially where it’ll be released in territories where Hulu isn’t available. However, I’m pretty sure that this series will be turning up on Disney Plus STAR in most territories worldwide.

If you’re not that familiar with the name Noah Hawley, he’s the person behind shows such as Fargo and Legion, which were two incredible series. They were really well received, but they probably didn’t get the viewership they both deserved.

We still don’t know all that much about this upcoming Alien series. However, what we do know is that Sir Ridley Scott is a producer on the series. Scott directed the original 1979 Alien movie, and he then made Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.

Here’s the plot synopsis for Ridley Scott’s original classic Alien film:

In deep space, the crew of the commercial starship Nostromo is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. The terror begins when the crew encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship. An organism from inside an egg leaps out and attaches itself to one of the crew, causing him to fall into a coma.

One thing that we do know about this FX Alien series is that it’ll be the first in the franchise to bring the Xenomorphs to Earth. It seems as though Disney is not counting the Alien Vs Predator movies as part of the official franchise.

I can understand why they took that decision, and it also opens up the possibility of future Xenomorph and Predator crossover movies and/or TV shows. I think it’s a great idea. It just needs to be done with a lot more care than it was previously.

We’ve also had our first look at this new Alien series’ poster (via iHorror), and it looks very reminiscent of Ridley Scott’s original movie, which I love!

You can see the egg which the face huggers come out of before they end up attaching themselves to an unfortunate victim and proceed to impregnate their new host with a baby Xenomorph. The Xenomorph then proceeds to break its way out of the victim’s chest.

It must be the most painful experience ever and one of the worst ways to die imaginable. It’s horrific and has scared audiences since the very first movie was released back in 1979. I’m really hoping that this upcoming series is a return to form for the franchise, which has been in a pretty poor state since James Cameron’s Aliens was released.

That was the last movie in the franchise that was genuinely good. That said, there are a lot of people out there who’ve got a lot of love for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus.
