It’s been revealed that Netflix has ordered a series of Supercrooks which will be a live-action adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic book.
This news comes via Variety, and within the article they also revealed that Netflix has released the actors of Jupiter’s Legacy from their contracts.
What does this mean? Well, it means that Netflix has effectively cancelled Jupiter’s Legacy and is moving forward with another one of the show’s based on Millar’s comics.
This all comes after Netflix struck a deal with Mark Millar for the rights to Millarworld.
This means that they can make series and movies of a bunch of Millar’s comics, and there are some good ones in there.
There was a lot of hope for Jupiter’s Legacy.
However, those hopes were pretty much dashed when the show was released.
It was received very well by neither Netflix users nor critics, and I personally thought the show was pretty terrible.

However, it was revealed by Millar himself in the Variety article that they might end up returning to Jupiter’s Legacy in the future.
They also revealed that Supercrooks will be set in the same universe as Jupiter’s Legacy.
They’re trying to sell this as a continuation of Millarworld on Netflix via another show.
However, it really is just Netflix cancelling one series and green lighting another.
Supercrooks will be premiered at this year’s Annecy Festival, which is pretty cool if you ask me.
What did Mark Millar have to say about Supercrooks?

Here’s what Mark Millar had to say about Supercrooks and Jupiter’s Legacy:
I’m really proud of what the team achieved with ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ and the amazing work everyone did on that origin season.
I’ve been asked a lot about what we’re planning next with this world and the answer is to see what the super-villains are getting up to.
I’ve always loved crime stories from Scorcese to Tarantino and super-villains are always the most fun part of any superhero story.
To do something exclusively focused on the villains they fight just feels incredibly fresh as we explore what it’s like to be a bad guy in a world crawling with good guys who want to put you in jail.
‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ is a vast and rich space with lots of characters to mine and so I’m happy to share that our next step here is a live-action version of the ‘Supercrooks’ comic I created with Leinil Francis Yu a few years back.
Given where we’re going next, we’ve made the tough call of letting our incredible cast out of their show commitment as we continue to thoughtfully develop all realms of the ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ saga.
We’re confident we’ll return to it later and just want to say thanks to you guys for your continued support and to the cast and crew who made this look so great.
