It’s been revealed that Netflix has ended up buying the Knives Out franchise for £450 million, which is actually really good business as far as I’m concerned.
This news comes to us from Variety who also reports that Daniel Craig and Rian Johnson will be back for the upcoming sequels.
At the moment, it looks like this deal is for a Knives Out 2 and 3 and I for one am super excited to see where these movies go.
The first Knives Out film was released in cinemas and performed really well at the box office, with critics and with fans.
The first movie made $311.4 million at the box office and it only cost the studio $40 million to make.
It was distributed by Lionsgate, yet produced by Media Rights Capital.

Daniel Craig played private detective Benoit Blanc and he was brilliant in the role.
He had a thick Southern American accent and was wonderfully eccentric in the role.
There were definitely echoes of Hercule Poirot and Columbo in Benoit Blanc which I personally adored.
I’d be very interested to see what mysteries Blanc will have to solve in the upcoming films.
The first one was a murder. Will it also be murder in Knives Out 2?
Rian Johnson will be back directing and he’s also writing both upcoming films.
