There is a mystery DC movie which is apparently scheduled for release in 2023, at least, according to a new report from YouTuber Syl Abdul (via Geekosity). This is rather odd because it would be very, very late to start promoting this movie as it’s going to be released potentially within a year from now. There’s no information on what this movie could be, and the films that DC has slated for release in 2023 that I can find are Shazam! Fury Of The Gods, The Flash, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom and Blue Beetle.
It seems as though Syl Abdul has been told about another DC film to be released next year. Here’s what he had to say on the matter in this video:
There seems to be another film for the DC slate in 2023…September will probably be the month. I don’t have the title of the film.

He then went on to add that this source revealed this film isn’t just a Warner Bros. Picture production. So, this means that this movie is supposedly being made with another studio attached to it, and it could, therefore, be a smaller-budget production. It seems as though this movie is going to be shot and released in a very short space of time. I cannot for the life of me think what film this could be.
This all comes after Warner Bros Discovery cancelled the Batgirl project. That movie had already been shot and it was scheduled for release on HBO Max in 2023. There have been rumours that they might still try and release that movie, but I highly doubt that will ever happen. However, there is another possibility. I’ve been hearing rumours that Warner Bros. Pictures might be thinking of doing a theatrical run of Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

I have no idea whether these rumours are true. I haven’t heard anything about this from people I know working in the industry, and my sources haven’t told me about something like this happening. However, Kevin Smith revealed recently that he will be screening Zack Snyder’s Justice League at his Smodcastle Cinemas next year, which is a pretty big deal and it could end up being part of a wider release in the United States.
Whether Warner Bros Discovery decides to do a worldwide release of the movie, I’m not sure. I highly doubt they would do that. However, I do think that would be a rather shrewd move from the studio. I think there would be demand to see the movie in theatres, and I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they end up selling out screenings of Zack Snyder’s Justice League around the world if they make it a very limited theatrical run.
They could end up making some of the money back that they reportedly lost on getting the movie made. The more I think about it, the more I think Warner Bros Discovery should do this. But, something tells me that they won’t, and that they’d rather focus on releasing the four movies they officially have slated for theatrical releases in 2023.
