It really seems as though people have been enjoying the recent Mortal Kombat movie which just landed on HBO Max.
We’re hearing all sorts of reports suggesting that the movie is the best performing film ever released on the new streaming platform.
According to Samba TV, Mortal Kombat was watched by more US households on HBO Max than Godzilla Vs. Kong.

He also added that the new movie ended up being watched by more people in its first three days than Godzilla Vs. Kong got in its first five.
Who is Keyes you ask, and why is he important?
He’s the Editorial and Executive Director of Screen Rant, and he likes to point these sorts of numbers out on Twitter.

So, it seems as though Mortal Kombat’s been outperforming the movie that was supposedly the best performing movie on HBO Max (Godzilla Vs. Kong).
This probably explains why a Mortal Kombat sequel is already reportedly in the works.

However, that doesn’t mean that a sequel couldn’t be better.
The end of the movie teased Johnny Cage and he’s someone that I would love to see in a potential sequel.
