It’s being reported that Mortal Kombat 2 is already in the works which is interesting news if it turns out to be true.
This rumour comes to us from Daniel Richtman and his Patreon page.
Mortal Kombat has just landed on HBO Max and it’s been doing pretty well according to reports.
Sounds like the movie’s been doing well enough to warrant a sequel, and there are reports the sequel is happening.
It’s being reported that Mortal Kombat has earned an estimated $9 million on Friday in the United States.
It’s being projected that the movie could have made $19 million this past weekend.

$19 million is a lot for an R-rated movie that was released during the pandemic.
Internationally, Simon McQuoid’s first movie has ended up making almost $20 million, so it sounds as though the film has done well enough for Warner Bros. Pictures to warrant a sequel.
This means that we might be getting to see Johnny Cage in action after all.
The first movie ended with a very obvious hint at Johnny Cage being in the sequel.
It’ll be interesting to see who they end up casting as Johnny Cage.
As for the actual movie, I didn’t care for it all that much.
