Morbius’ first trailer landed yesterday, and it featured a rather interesting moment towards the end of the trailer which featured Michael Keaton’s Vulture.
The mere fact that Vulture is in this movie really does open up these Sony Pictures films to the big world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which is really good fun.
This means that we could get character s like Morbius and Venom turn up in the MCU future down the line, which is something I know a few fans are keen on seeing.
However, it does seem as though Marvel Studios is still keen on keeping the two worlds separate, for now.
The reason why Vulture could be in this movie is probably because Sony Pictures have the rights to the character, which means they can have him be in both the Spider-Man movies and the Sony Pictures spinoff films.
It would be interesting to see where this takes the MCU moving forward and whether Marvel Studios’ President, Kevin Feige would be open to the idea of having Morbius or Venom in a MCU movie.
Now, let’s get back to Morbius’ trailer. Vulture turns up and tells Morbius: “Michael Morbius. Got tired of doing the whole good guy thing, huh? What’s up Doc?”

What’s interesting is Vulture’s clothes. He’s wearing the exact same prison clothes he wore at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, which leads me to believe that Morbius is going to break Vulture out of prison for some reason.
Perhaps he needs Vulture’s expertise and weapons technology to help him do something?
I highly doubt that Morbius is just going to start breaking criminals out of prison for fun. There will be a method behind the madness.
I reckon he’ll try to use Vulture’s tech to help him get well again. That’s my idea. He’s sick of living off human blood and is trying to find a way to turn him back into a normal human being.
That’s the only logical explanation I can think of. Or, he might need Vulture to help him break into somewhere.
I’m actually quite excited to see this film because it looks genuinely bonkers. It looks like a proper B movie set within a comic book movie, and I kind of like that.
