Morbius’ First Trailer Could Be Arriving As Early As Next Week

We’re living in a rather strange world at the moment, especially when it comes to Spider-Man and what’s going on between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.

Sony Pictures are currently working on developing their Spider-Man universe, which is set aside from the MCU and the upcoming film in which I’m dubbing the SCU (Spider-Man Cinematic Universe) is Morbius.

This film will star Jared Leto as Michael Morbius and this movie will be linked to the world started in Tom Hardy’s Venom.

There are rumours now that the film’s first trailer will land as soon as next week, which is pretty early if you ask me.

This news comes courtesy of Daniel Richman who claims that Sony Pictures will drop Morbius’ first trailer sometime next week, so that’s something to look forward to.

We know that J.K. Simmons will be playing J. Jonah Jameson in the movie, and he and Leto’s Morbius will share at least one scene together in the movie.

What’s not so certain is how closely these SCU films will tie in with the MCU, however, the fact that Jameson will be in both suggests that they do take place in the same universe.

That’s going to be a bit strange as far as I’m concerned because it means that Hardy Venom exists in the MCU.

I would love to see everything come together at some point, perhaps in a future Spider-Man movie, but for now, it looks like Morbius and Venom 2 won’t feature the wall-crawler.

There’s also been lots of chatter about Leto’s take on the character in the movie.

Producer Avi Arad has been making sure that people know hoe good Leto is in the movie, saying:

Wait until you see the way he looks, what we have done with this character, you will love it. There are so many other great characters on the way, too. You will see. We’re just getting started.

I’m very intrigued by this movie and I’m looking forward to seeing what Leto has in store for us.

Morbius will be hitting UK cinemas on July 31st, 2020, and it’s being directed by Daniel Espinosa who gave us Life, Child 44 and Safe House.
