After watching the first season of the new hit series, many people are now wondering whether Netflix will greenlight a Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story Season 2 (which I’m going to refer to as ‘Dahmer Season 2′ from now on – thanks Google). Let’s discuss whether this is something that could happen.
Before we get into the weeds about whether Dahmer Season 2 is happening or not, let’s go over what this new streaming series is all about. Here’s the show’s official plot synopsis, courtesy of Netflix:
Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer gruesomely took the lives of seventeen innocent victims. Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is a series that exposes these unconscionable crimes, centered around the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade.

People are obsessed with true crime, and they seem to love watching shows about serial killers. This new Netflix series focuses on the crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer that have fascinated and disgusted true-crime fanatics for decades. This new Netflix series from Ryan Murphy recounts his chilling story. This new series explores the serial killer’s horrible acts and also explores the lives of the seventeen men and boys who Dahmer murdered on a thirteen-year killing spree. This new series has been a huge hit with subscribers and has found itself at the very top of Netflix’s Top 10 shows list.
However, the show’s massive popularity on the streaming platform has led to many fans asking whether this Jeffrey Dahmer series could return for a Season 2. Is Dahmer Season 2 on the menu over at Netflix? Dahmer landed on Netflix on Wednesday, September 21st, 2022. The show focuses on Dahmer’s murders between 1978 and 1991. The fascinating thing about the way the show is structured is that it doesn’t just focus on the murders and the murderer, but also on the people he killed. It explores the impact Dahmer’s actions had on their communities which faced systemic racism and institutional failures which helped to perpetuate the murderous killing spree.

The thing is about whether a Dahmer Season 2 is on the horizon, well, it doesn’t look likely. The first season tells the whole story, and there’s no room for a second season. However, there is something that they could do. I’m sure that Ryan Murphy might be interested in making another show similar to Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. There are a number of other serial killers that Murphy could make another limited series about. People like Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Harold Shipman and Pedro Lopez. They could make another show that focuses on these people’s murders.
In the case of Jeffrey Dahmer, the serial killer was murdered by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver in 1994, which means that there is no more source material to base a potential second season on. So, I don’t think we’ll be getting a Dahmer – Monster: Jeffrey Dahmer Story. The show consists of ten episodes. Like most series on Netflix, all ten episodes were released in one go. There are no extra episodes or a part two on the horizon. We saw that happen with The Sandman and Stranger Things Season 4 recently. However, it looks like Dahmer Season 2 isn’t going to happen on Netflix.

Each episode of Dahmer runs between 45 and 63 minutes in length, with the series having a total runtime of 530 minutes, or eight hours and 50 minutes, meaning there’s plenty of content to keep you on the edge of your seat.
