MCU Fans Petition To Keep Original Marvel Shows Canon

Marvel fans have launched a petition to Marvel Studios to have the original Marvel shows recognised as canon.

In a tweet addressed to the studio and its President, Kevin Feige, an MCU Wikipedia representative has asked for the “preservation of Marvel’s television universe”.

The petition has gained the support of 100 MCU Wiki community members.

The first paragraph of the petition reads:

The work of Marvel Studios and Television has invested me into a fictional world to a level far beyond anything before in my life. I cannot thank them enough for how they have changed my life for the better. Over a very tough several years in my life, the MCU has always been there for me, and the value of that is immeasurable.

Later on, the author makes crystal clear the purpose of the petition

The fundamental, bottom line purpose of this letter: To passionately plead that whatever happens, Marvel Television’s MCU shows remain canonical to the MCU.

Ever since the rights reverted back to Marvel, there have been question marks as to whether the Netflix shows are considered canon.

This includes all the shows that were produced by Netflix, as well as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and Agent Carter.

Will Marvel respond to fans’ heartfelt plea?

With Marvel now producing their own shows such as WandaVision and Loki, it does appear that all the previous shows are no longer canon.

However, with Clark Gregg voicing his support for his show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D  to be recognised as canon, there may be hope for this petition.

The petition definitely feels like it’s been written from the heart of a passionate fan.

Hence, we hope that there’s an official response from Marvel Studios soon.
