Marvel’s Eternals is one of the next films to come out in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and we’ve now had the film’s official plot synopsis.
The film boasts one of the best ensemble casts I’ve ever seen in a Marvel movie, including the likes of Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan and Kit Harington.
The film is being directed by Chloé Zhao who’s working off a script by Matthew K. Firpo and Ryan Firpo, and I must say that this sounds like one of Marvel’s movie ambitious films yet.
We’ve now got the official plot synopsis of Marvel’s Eternals and it sounds kind of mad.
Here it is in full (via Geek Tyrant):
Marvel Studios’ The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.

One of the things that really caught my eye about this plot synopsis is the fact that it confirms the arrival of The Deviants to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is great news.
What or who are The Deviants I hear you ask? Well, they were introduced in the very first issue of Jack Kirby’s Eternals comic book.
They are basically another branch of the evolutionary process that created sentient life on Earth instigated by the alien Celestials and wage war against their counterparts, the Eternals.
They’re pretty nasty and the fact that they’re now in the MCU is great news because they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with.
