It seems as though Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures might have found their live-action Miles Morales, and I think that many of you will like this name that’s making the rounds.
Spider-Man, known for embodying the lively streets of New York City and battling against supervillains whilst managing his personal life, family, and friendships, has been a favourite of comic book fans for many years.
This character from Marvel Comics has been adapted to the big screen, making triumphant appearances on three separate occasions in recent times (via Inside The Magic).

Now, it’s time for another fan favourite Spider-Man, Miles Morales, to shine. The Spider-Verse under Sony Pictures Entertainment has enjoyed remarkable popularity, beginning with the groundbreaking release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), where Shameik Moore took on the role of Miles Morales. The Spider-Verse expanded with the recent film, Across the Spider-Verse, which was released on June 2, 2023.
The MCU, ever-growing due to the fruitful Disney-Sony deal, appears ready to bring a live-action variant of Miles Morales to the big screen.
The Potential New Face of Miles Morales
Rumours suggest that there might already be a shoo-in for the role of Miles Morales — an actor who interestingly shares the same first name as the character: Miles. The young Afro-Latino actor, Miles Brown, known for his role in ABC’s Black-ish (2014-2022), has expressed his interest in the role.
Brown, fitting the age and height requirements for the character, seems eager to join the Marvel family, saying, “I’m Afro-Latino, my name is Miles. I fit the age perfectly, fit the height, right? You know, so tell Marvel to hit me up, man”.

Fans have chimed in about this potential casting choice, with some agreeing that Miles Brown looks like a mix between Aaron Davis and the animated Miles Morales from the Spider-Verse. However, others express concern that Brown is not Puerto Rican, as the character famously is in other media.
Overall, opinions are mixed, but it can’t be denied that Marvel Studios have some pretty strong contenders for the role of Miles Morales when the time comes.
