Margot Robbie has revealed that she’s been pushing to have a Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy romance in the DC Universe movies, which I think would be great! This all comes after Harley and Ivy started a romance in both the comic books and the Harley Quinn animated TV show (which is incredible, by the way).
During an interview with ComicBook.com, the actress and producer was asked whether she’d like to see her version of the DC Comics character start up the same romance in the upcoming movies that she might be starring in. Robbie revealed that she would love to see that happen and added that she’s been trying to make that happen for years.

I have been pushing for that for years. I cannot tell you how hard I’ve been pushing for that. I want it too.
Moreover, the actress was then asked whether she had any people in mind to play Poison Ivy in the live-action movies. Here’s what she had to say about that:
Honestly, when I pictured, I always picture like Poison Ivy in the comics. I don’t really actually picture an actress doing it, but I agree, that would be so good.
Will Robbie get to play Harley Quinn again?

It’s still unclear whether Robbie will ever get to play Harley Quinn in the live-action movies again. We already know that Lady Gaga will be playing another version of the character in the upcoming Joker sequel, which is called Joker: Folie à Deux.
Robbie did talk about the decision to cast Lady Gaga as the character and what it’s going to be like seeing someone else playing the role. Here’s what she had to say on the matter during an interview with MTV News:
It makes me so happy, because I said from the beginning all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters that… the way like Macbeth or Batman always gets passed from great actor to great actor, and it’s kind of like someone gets to do their Batman or someone gets to do their Macbeth, you know?

The actress then went on to add:
It’s such an honour to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors get to have a go at playing, and I think she’ll do something incredible with it.
Joker: Folie à Deux is stated to be released in UK and US cinemas on October 4th, 2024. There’s still no news on when or whether Margot Robbie will ever get to play the character again on the big screen. However, the fact that James Gunn is now in charge of DC Studios, I’m pretty sure he’ll get her to do another movie or TV show in which she plays Harley Quinn.
