Man Of Steel 2 Might Reboot Henry Cavill’s Superman

It’s being reported that Man Of Steel 2 is going to reboot Henry Cavill’s Superman and give the character a new backstory, which I think might be a bit much. This report comes to us from Giant Freakin Robot, and I have to say that I really do hope they are wrong on this one. Why, you ask? Because I think that Clark Kent’s origin story in the first Man Of Steel movie was pretty good.

The first movie, which Zack Snyder directed, remains to this day one of the best DC movies ever made. Granted, there are some issues with the film. I also think there are some issues with Snyder’s take on Superman. However, I really enjoyed the film as a whole, and I think it gave us a new and interesting version of Supes. However, it sounds as though they really want to reboot the character with this new Superman film.

First thing’s first, as long as the British actor is back as Superman, I don’t really mind what they do. I think he’s the perfect man to play the role. And all I really want is for him to be back in a genuinely good Superman film. I think he really deserves to show us what he can do in the role. It seems that Cavill is back for good as Clark Kent, which is very good.

Moreover, after it was revealed that DC Studios was now going to be led by James Gunn, a huge Superman fan, I think that the future looks bright for the Man Of Steel. He loves the character and has big plans for the DC Universe. And, after seeing Cavill’s Superman turn up at the end of Black Adam, I think he will be back in the role for a very long time – or at least, for as long as Cavill wants to play the role.

Also, there was the news that Cavill has left The Witcher Netflix series, which makes me believe that he’s now dedicated a large chunk of his career to playing Superman.

So, I have a feeling that things are looking good for Superman’s future, and even though it sounds as though they are planning on changing the character’s origin story, I’m not all that worried. I don’t think it’s a good idea. However, I’m more interested in knowing who they are looking at to write and direct the movie. I don’t think that has to be the same person.

There have been reports that Warner Bros Discovery would like Steven Spielberg to make the film, which I think would be a great choice. However, my personal choice would be Christopher McQuarrie. I think he would be a great choice as the writer and director of the movie. He’s a terrific director, and I think he would also have a great grand plan for future Superman films. Just look at what he’s done with the recent Misson: Impossible movies. He’s turned that into one of the biggest Hollywood movie franchises.
