Man Of Steel 2 Gets A Worrying New Development Update

There had been reports that Man Of Steel 2 was happening with Henry Cavil returning as Superman, but it looks like DC Studios might have other plans for their caped superhero. We were previously informed that all things were looking good for Cavill’s return ad the Man Of Steel.

Cavill even took to Instagram to reveal that his brief cameo in Black Adam was just the beginning of a new era for his take on the iconic DC Comics character. Well, The Hollywood Reporter’s recent article has really thrown a spanner in the works as far as all future DC Studios content is concerned, and it claims that the rumoured Superman movie has now been thrown into the dark depths of development Hell!

So, Dwayne Johnson revealed after the release of Black Adam that he had to fight to get Warner Bros to agree to bring Cavill back as Superman, and it did seem as though the battle was won! However, that was before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over at DC Studios, and it now seems as though those plans have now been put on the back-burner.

Actually, as far as The Hollywood Reporter’s concerned, the plans for a new Superman movie have been scrapped altogether, which I hope isn’t the case. There had been plans to bring Henry Cavill back as Superman in a very big way. However, it seems we’ve been brought right back to square one as far as Superman’s future in the DCU is concerned.

So the bigger question is, will Henry Cavill ever get to play Superman in the DCU again? Well, I think he might. It does look like DC Studios’ plan is to go down another route with the character. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t cast Cavill as Supes in upcoming projects. We’re just going to have to wait and see.

However, we do have to be realistic and come to the conclusion that the chances of him coming back to play the role now that Gunn and Safran are in charge are a little bit less than they were before the duo were brought in to steady the ship and come up with a new plan for the future of the DCU.

It’s going to be interesting to see what James Gunn and Peter Safran are planning for the future of the DC Universe over at DC Studios. It does seem as though they have really big things planned, and it also seems as though they’re going to bring a definitive end to the SnyderVerse, which will undoubtedly annoy and upset many DC fans out there.

Ultimately, we’re just going to have to wait and see, but something tells me that Gunn and Safran won’t wait too long before letting everyone know what they have been cooking up in their headquarters at DC Studios. I’m very, very excited to see what they have planned for us!
