It’s being reported by Popcorned Planet that Mads Mikkelsen is in talks to replace Johnny Depp as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3. This comes after it was revealed that Johnny Depp was fired from the movie by Warner Bros. Pictures. Deadline has since also claimed that this is happening, so we’re going to take it as fact.
According to Popcorned Planet, Mads Mikkelsen is being courted by Warner Bros. Pictures to join the movie, which is already in production. Honestly, this would be good casting as far as I’m concerned.
Mikkelsen was brilliant in the likes of The Hunt, Hannibal and most recently the movie Drunk. It’ll be interesting to see what he does with the role moving forward.

The whole thing is very strange to me. It was revealed late last week that Johnny Depp had been asked to leave the role of Grindelwald. He revealed this via his Instagram feed.
“I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros” he stated, indicating this wasn’t his decision, and also fundamentally continues his stance of innocence in the legal proceedings. He continued that he will challenge the court’s decision to “tell the truth” and his “resolve remains strong”.
It’s since been revealed that Johnny Depp would still get his full salary for Fantastic Beasts 3. Some outlets have reported that the sum could be close to $10 million, which isn’t bad considering Depp had only filmed one scene for the movie.
There have been rumours that Warner Bros. Pictures might be looking at bringing Colin Farrell back as Grindelwald. He played the character in the first movie
