There’s a new fan theory on the web which is suggesting that Ella Lopez will be taking a trip to Hell in Lucifer season 5.
Lucifer season 5 is going to be the very last season of the beloved show, and that’s a sad thing to hear, but, I’m pretty certain that Netflix will do its utmost to ensure that it’ll be the very best season of Lucifer we’ve ever seen.
We recently learnt that season 5 will be 16 episodes long, which is a full six hours longer than season 4, which is very good news indeed.
However, there’s now a new fan theory on the web which suggests that one of the show’s most popular characters could be taking to a trip to Hell in the final season.
Ella Lopez (played by Aimee Garcia) is the Los Angeles Police Department’s forensic scientist and she’s a real sweetheart. She’s kind, good-natured and always puts others before herself. She’s the most selfless character on the show, and that’s saying a lot with the likes of Detective Decker (Laura German) around.
However, one Reddit user thinks she could be going down under, and I don’t mean Australia. No, I mean Hell, the Underworld, the Great Inferno, Hades… Whatever you want to call it.
Reddit user Sent_Angel_Of_Death was the one who came up with this rather outrageous fan theory, but the more I looked into it, the more plausible it seemed.
The Reddit user starts off by stating the obvious fact that season four ended with Lucifer returning to hell to prevent the demons from coming to Earth, which meant that he had to sacrifice his love for Chloe in the process.
However, he won’t spend eternity down there, so how will they get him out?
Ella’s all out of faith
So, Ella’s been struggling with her faith of late, and she’s been having some stern words with the Big Man up there, but she’s been getting no real response from him.
And now that Lucifer has suddenly vanished, this might end up pushing her over the edge, and Sent_Angel_Of_Death suggests that the following could end up happening:
“What if in the first episode there is an incident where Ella is forced to make a choice to save someone she loves or even a scene where she decides to take revenge after her brother (who was the diamond thief in a previous season is murdered), but with this sacrifice or act of revenge she commits a sin worthy of damning her to the underworld.”
The theory then goes on to suggest that when Lucifer finds out what happened to his friend Ella, he thinks the whole thing must have been a mistake.
Lucifer will think that she’s been unfairly treated and he’ll fly Ella back to Earth and then their redemptive story arcs will begin.
Oh yeah, and all of this will make Ella realise what, or who, Lucifer really is, which will be interesting.
Lucifer will make it to the Silver City
However, Sent_Angel_Of_Death doesn’t end there. The Reddit user, and obvious Lucifer superfan, then suggests that the Archangel Michael will come down to Earth and try to kill Lucifer, Ella and Chloe (why her?).
It won’t end very well for the Archangel, however, as in Lucifer’s final moments Michael will let it all out and tell his brother how he really feels. This will be the moment when the role of Ruler of the Underworld is thrust upon Michael.
This will spell the way for Lucifer to end up back in the Silver City, which would be a good ending for everybody involved, apart from Michael.
I’m going to be honest here, I really like this conclusion to Lucifer. I think it would be a perfect way to wrap up the series and I really do hope that the writers have something similar in mind.

Or maybe possibly Dan will be going to hell for the devious things he’s done lately. Same theory but Lucifer returns him knowing that Trixie would miss her dad to much.
