Lucifer Season 5 is going to be with us in the future – we don’t know when exactly, but we hope it’s soon – and fans have been chatting away about what could happen in the final season of the show.
This means there’s been a whole load of fan theories out there, and it can be difficult something to find the genuinely good ones which could end up being true.
However, there is one fan theory that caught my eye, because I genuinely think it could happen.
Reddit user Virulent_Hitman posted his fan theory on the popular website on which fans like to go and chat about their favourite shows.
Could Lucifer die in Season 5?

Here’s what the fan had to say about what could happen in Lucifer Season 5:
So in season 1 and 2 we saw that if Lucifer died he had no means of getting himself back to earth. Season 1 he had to use a Pentecostal coin to get back and season 2 Linda had to shock him back to life. My question is was this only because Lucifer didn’t have his wings in those seasons? Like if he were to get shot and die in season 3 in one of the instances where he was near Chloe, couldn’t he just fly back up to earth from hell and inhabit his body again? If Lucifer has his wings is death permanent for him?
This theory really got people talking about whether Lucifer really is mortal around Chloe or not, and they seemed to agree that he was.
One user explained this, saying: “If he dies with his wings, his body would need reviving or someone else would have to drag his soul back into it from hell.
“His wings allows his physical body to go from Hell to Earth, Earth to Hell. His soul is another matter,” the user said.

Another user added the following point, which I actually really do agree with:
Normally with his wings he can fly back and forth, as can Amenadiel. Like when he just popped down and back with Abel in S3. But as he is no longer immortal around Chloe, I am guessing he would then lose this ability to do so. And as he has been banned from Heaven, his soul would not be welcome there. I am hoping in S5 his soul is redeemed somehow and he is welcome wherever. Wonder what heaven looks like!
I cannot wait to see what happens in this final season of Lucifer, which is gearing up to be my most anticipated show of 2020 (if it does come out in 2020).
