It’s being reported that Lucasfilm is looking to replace Cara Dune with a new female lead in The Mandalorian following Gina Carano’s firing. This report comes from Daniel Richtman’s Patreon page.
A lot of people have been wondering what will Disney and Lucasfilm opt to do regarding the character of The Mandalorian in Season 3. This is after it was revealed that Lucasfilm had fired Gina Carano form the Star Wars TV shows.
It sounds like they might have come up with some sort of plan. According to Daniel Richtman and his sources, Lucasfilm is actually going to bring in a new female lead into The Mandalorian Season 3.

There has been talk of recasting the role, however, I think that would be a bit too jarring for viewers and might end up angering more people than Disney and Lucasfilm would be comfortable with.
Therefore, bringing in a new female lead seems to me at least, to make the most sense. It would mean that they wouldn’t have to directly address the sudden disappearance of Cara Dune in the show. They could just say that she’s busy doing her own thing. This would make the most sense in my mind.
