Lucasfilm Replaces Cara Dune With Ahsoka Tano In New The Mandalorian Artwork

Lucasfilm recently commissioned an artist to make some The Mandalorian artwork, and interestingly enough, Cara Dune is not it. She had been replaced by Ahsoka Tano, who’s not a main character in the series.

This bit of The Mandalorian artwork was made by artist Mark Raats and it’s quite telling that he opted not to put Cara Dune in it. He revealed this new artwork via Twitter and took to the time to thank both Lucasfilm and Disney Australia.

This all comes after there were calls to have Gina Carano fired from The Mandalorian, which I’m not sure Disney or Lucasfilm should really do. Gina plays Cara Dune in the Star Wars universe, and I think she’s pretty good in the role.

Here’s what the artist, Matt Raats, had to say on Twitter about being commissioned by Disney and Lucasfilm to do this interesting bit of fan art for The Mandalorian:

It’s been my great privilege to have once again been asked by Disney and Lucasfilm to create art for Mandalorian. Thank you very much to @DisneyAUNZ
and @Lucasfilm for the fun ride.

There are so many reasons why Cara Dune might not be in this artwork. Maybe Raats wanted to focus on other characters. However, it is the slightly strange thing he opted to put in a character that only appeared in one episode of The Mandalorian Season 2.
