This is some news that I never thought would happen. It’s been revealed that Netflix is working on a live-action Pokémon series, which just sounds wild.
This story came from Variety and hopefully, Nintendo doesn’t end up cancelling it like they did the live-action Zelda series that was in the works at Netflix.
The thing is, with Pokémon, Nintendo doesn’t technically own the franchise.
It’s actually Game Freak that owns all things Pokémon and now that this live-action Netflix series is in the works, I’m pretty sure they’ll want it to see the light of day.
This all comes after Lionsgate made the Detective Pikachu movie a few years back.
The movie actually ended up being one of the best films that had been adapted from a video game.

According to Variety’s sources, Joe Henderson is attached to write and executive produce this live-action Pokémon show.
He’s the producer of Lucifer on Netflix, which is now going into the sixth and final series.
Apparently, this live-action series will be set in the same world as the Detective Pikachu movie, which I think is a very good idea.
We’ll have to wait and see who ends up starring in it.
I do hope they bring Ash and his Pikachu into the movie somehow.
I would love to see a live-action series with those two characters involved.
