This isn’t the season we all expected but at least Legacies managed to provide us something in these strange times and managed to work around the COVID procedures.
Legacies Season 3 Episode 16 is the unintentional finale to season 3 which was surprisingly more enjoyable than expected and worked really well.
Now we are headed into a four-month hiatus until season 4 hits our screens in October.
In this finale, Hope teams up with Clark and Lizzie tries to help Hope move on by finding her a rebound, which results in a surprising revelation.
MG and Kaleb are on their first superhero mission and Cleo and Landon are trying to find a way to stop Malivore but Landon is hiding a shocking secret of his own.
WILL HOPE GOING FULL TRIBRID BE THE BEST OPTION TO DEFEAT MALIVORE?

This whole season we have been wondering if we will see Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) become a full tribrid, yet she has shown she doesn’t really want to but is feeling backed into a corner.
We don’t get to see any transformation in this episode but instead, Hope finally accepts the idea that she doesn’t need to do this alone and that she does have a family – her friends at the school.
This episode might not have given us the Hope we all really want to see but it was nice to see Hope showing her softer side and acknowledging that the pressure doesn’t have to be all on her.
In the next season, we can guess that the Salvatore School may try and find other ways to defeat Malivore which doesn’t result in Hope activating her vampire side.
However, deep down we all want to see that but just because she activates her vampire side it doesn’t mean that is what kills Malivore, he may want her to change for his own plans.
MALIVORE FINALLY RETURNS IN A SURPRISING TWIST!

In this episode of Legacies Season 3, it is revealed that Landon isn’t Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) but really Malivore has been using his body as a vessel and our Landon is gone.
This revelation was done well and I was surprised to learn that Landon was actually Malivore.
With that being said looking back it has been made clear that Landon is different, darker but we were pulled into the story that the prison world changed him.
I do like Aria Shahghasemi performance when he has to play the darker character, he does it really well and I really buy into the act.
Malivore is back and he is ready to consume whoever he wants to get what he wants, which includes Cleo (Omono Okojie).
Now that Malivore is back, I hope his return and defeat isn’t dragged out because I kind of want a new villain to fight in the next season.
I enjoyed the addition of Omono Okojie to the cast because Cleo brought some mystery to the show; I hope Okojie’s time on Legacies isn’t over but from the final scenes we saw maybe there is a way out for Cleo so could we possibly see her again.
HOPE TEAMS UP WITH CLARK BUT CLARK IS HIDING HIS OWN SECRETS

Watching Hope and Clark (Nick Fink) team up worked really well, Russell and Fink have a great dynamic in scenes together.
Now that Clark is human, I hope we get to see how he decides to live his life as a human in the next season.
I always enjoy Fink’s performance when he shows his face, he brings a lot of life into the episode and in the scenes, he is in.
IS A NEW ROMANCE BEGINNING WHILE ANOTHER GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH?

It was strange that Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) felt the answers to Hope’s issues would be to have a rebound and just anyone would do.
Lizzie scheming to get Ethan (Leo Howard) and Hope together felt really random and pointless, as it backfires with Lizzie agreeing to go on a date with Ethan instead.
Can we assume that in the next season there could be a romance between Lizzie and Ethan?
Which would result in giving Howard more screen time.
I quite enjoyed watching Ethan and Lizzie together, there was a spark between the characters which was enjoyable to watch.
As we watch the possible beginning of one couple, another couple is surprisingly growing from strength to strength.
Finch (Courtney Bandeko) and Josie (Kaylee Bryant) had a difficult start but we end this season with them growing stronger as a couple and having mature conversations.
This couple is growing on me but I do hope the writers don’t try and mess up because they want to make them as a couple more interesting.
MG AND KALEB BECOME DETECTIVES
Related: Legacies Season 3 Episode 14 Spoiler Review
MG (Quincy Fouse) and Kaleb (Chris Lee) team up after making up in the previous episode.
Watching this pair act as detectives was interesting because they served a purpose to the story.
What went wrong is when the pair decided to play superheroes and forgot about their other mission of getting to Cleo and Landon.
If they hadn’t decided to do that then possibly Cleo wouldn’t have been consumed by Malivore.
I’m confused why the writers decided to do that because that decision made MG and Kaleb’s presence in the episode quite pointless, except it showed us how close these two are but we already knew that.
LEGACIES EPISODE 16 GAVE US MORE THAN WE EXPECTED

The ending to this episode was emotional and felt like an ending to one chapter, ready to move onto the next.
Hope is aware of her fate but realises she isn’t alone and everyone is ready to face Malivore and destroy him once and for all.
Season 3 Episode 16 feels like the story had finally started to get going, it’s just a shame that this has to be the season finale.
What this episode did well was bring all our characters together and we finally got some proper action from Malivore.
Legacies Season 3 Episode 16 defiantly had some surprises which I wasn’t expecting and generally a much better episode with a proper plot.
As we move onto Season 4, I hope the writers stop teasing us with a possible tribrid Hope but also, I want Malivore gone and a new season monster arc to take over.
I’m over Malivore and now I’m craving something new however I am aware we need to get rid of him before we can move on.
An unintentional season finale leaves us on a cliff-hanger hoping the next season doesn’t disappoint.
