Lady Gaga is going to be playing a version of Harley Quinn in Joker 2 (Joker: Folie A Deux), and we now have some new details on her character to share with you. One thing we do know about this upcoming Joker sequel is that there are going to be musical numbers in the film. The movie is being directed by Todd Phillips and will star the singer/actor and Joaquin Phoenix.
We now have a new report thanks to The Weekly Planet podcast via their ‘Hot Scoop Or Shot Of Poop’ segment in which they revealed a little bit more about Gaga’s role in the upcoming Joker movie. According to their report, this upcoming movie is going to be shot from Harley Quinn’s point of view.
They added that according to what they’ve been told about the movie, it would take place mostly in Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum. Harley will try to help or study Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. However, she’ll end up falling for him. This is where the musical scenes will come into the picture.
This was when The Weekly Planet’s James Clement revealed that everything we see is what she wants to see in her mind. However, we still don’t know how many musical numbers will be in the film. These will probably all take place inside Harley’s imagination.

Apart from this, we really don’t know all that much about this movie. The first movie was pretty serious in tone, and I have a feeling that this sequel will be a bit stranger than the first film was. There were some scenes that took place in Arthur Fleck’s imagination in the first movie. It seems as though this trope is going to be repeated in this upcoming sequel. However, I have a feeling that it’ll feel more natural in this upcoming movie.
It was rumoured that this Joker film is going to be a very loose adaptation of the Batman: Three Jokers comic books. However, it seems as though it might just take elements from that comic book’s story. It does seem as though this Joker movie is very much going to be a double-hander. The movie’s title – Joker: Folie A Deux – suggests that it’s going to focus very much on Arthur Fleck and Harley Quinn.

I’m actually really looking forward to seeing this movie. It does seem as though Warner Bros Discovery has a lot of confidence in the movie’s writer and director, Todd Phillips. It was reported that WB Discovery’s CEO, David Zaslav, had asked Phillips whether he could take on a more active role with all of the upcoming DC Comics movies. I have a feeling that Phillips just wants to focus on the movies he’s making and not too much on the films that other directors are working on.
