Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’s trailer landed earlier this week, and it basically broke the Internet. It was all people could talk about, and we’re still talking about it. But, there was one moment in particular which really got Star Wars fans talking, and that was the moment where Kylo Ren and Rey were seen destroying some sort of ornament together with their lightsabers (or ‘laser swords’ if you’re Luke in Star Wars: The Last Jedi).
The trailer was followed with frantic speculation regarding that particular moment. People were asking what was that black ornament, and one of the theories that kept on cropping up was that it was Darth Vader’s helmet or a shrine to him.
Well, it seems as though that particular theory was confirmed thanks to the latest episode of The Star Wars Show which was published on Star Wars’ official YouTube channel the other day.
In the show, the two hosts confirm that Rey and Kylo were smashing Darth Vader’s helmet in that scene.
They were going through the highlights of the trailer, and then one of the presenters said: “Kylo and Rey in the Emperor’s throne room one moment, and then the next they’re destroying Kylo’s Darth Vader shrine.”

Normally this wouldn’t really be of any note. There are loads of YouTubers out there covering the Star Wars trailer.
However, it’s the fact that this was said on The Star Wars Show which is made and produced by people at Lucasfilm and Disney, so this would mean that they know what they’re talking about.
I must admit that I’m rather surprised they let this one slip so casually, but they were probably hoping that no one would notice. The segment was rather faced-paced after all. However, it all but confirms that Rey and Kylo will be destroying a Darth Vader shrine together.

Moreover, this tiny little snippet is easily the most interesting bit of the trailer. In this scene, Rey can be seen holding some sort of dagger, which many people are already theorising that it could be the dagger of Mortis.
The dagger of Mortis is a mystical weapon that resided on the Altar of the Wild Space world of Mortis. It was last seen in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series.
