It’s been revealed that Kevin Feige is just spread too thin at Marvel Studios, which has lead to a number of issues such as Tariq Bassam leaving the Blade movie. This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. However, this does worry me slightly because it could mean that the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is going to be rather uncertain.
Here’s what Jeff Sneider had to say about Marvel’s President being spread too thin at the company:
I’m told that the current BLADE script is roughly 90 pages and features exactly TWO (lackluster) action sequences. Mahershala said to be very frustrated with the process. Feige said to be spread too thin. But hey, that’s just what sources are telling me. Don’t shoot the messenger
Kevin Feige spread far too thin at Marvel Studios

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. He has been in charge of Marvel Studios for such a long time now, and he’s having to manage so many things at once. His job has just become harder and harder as time has gone on. One of the main reasons why this has happened is because Marvel Studios is doing so much more than it was at the beginning. They aren’t just making two movies a year anymore. They are making up to three films a year, plus a handful of TV shows for Disney Plus.
He’s involved in almost all of the projects that are coming out of Marvel Studios, including all of the Disney Plus shows. It’s just too much for one person to be in charge of. I think it’s time that he takes a step back and gets other people in to manage other areas of the company. He has started doing this, but it’s not enough.
He needs more help, and that could only be a good thing for the future of the MCU. The thing about the current Marvel President is that he’s a very involved producer. He’s not an executive producer on these projects – he’s a producer. That means that he’s doing a lot more work than he should be doing.
Does Marvel Studios need a change of leadership?

There have been rumours for quite some time now that Feige’s era at Marvel might be coming to an end. We’ve heard rumours that he might jump over to Lucasfilm. I’m not sure about those rumours, but I have heard that he might be thinking of stepping down as Marvel President, and his time at the head of Marvel Studios would be studied and remembered as one of the most incredible eras in Hollywood history.
He is the reason why we have so many superhero movies coming out today. He basically created the superhero blockbuster. Before he came along, superhero movies were very much in the same place as video game movies are in today. They weren’t taken seriously and weren’t doing overly well at the box office. Now, it’s all about superhero movies. They make billions of dollars at the box office, and people can’t wait to watch the next MCU movie or TV show.
