It’s been revealed that Keanu Reeves is currently in talks to reprise his role as John Wick in the upcoming spinoff series, which will be called Ballerina. This was revealed by Deadline, and we’ve actually been told that Reeves has already signed on the dotted line, and it’s a done deal, which is pretty exciting.
According to Deadline’s report, which was posted yesterday, Reeves will join an ensemble which will be led by No Time To Die and Knives Out actor Ana de Armas. De Armas and potentially Keanu Reeves will be joined by Ian McShane, who will reprise his role as The Continental Hotel manager Winston. McShane has played the role since the original John Wick film.

Ballerina will see de Armas play a young female assassin who will be seeking revenge against the people who murdered her family. She’ll basically be the female version of John Wick; however, instead of avenging her dog’s death, she’ll be avenging her family’s. That’s a pretty good reason to go out and kick some serious butt.
It was also revealed not too long ago that production on the spinoff series has already begun. Len Wiseman will direct the series and will be working off of a script written by Shay Hatten. It was also revealed that the series would be produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski. Brady Fujikawa and Chelsea Kujawa will be overseeing the project for Lionsgate.

We still don’t know when and where the series will be available to watch. However, this is a show I am all in for, and I feel that a number of other John Wick fans will be really looking forward to watching this one. Ana de Armas has already proved that she can perform action scenes impeccably after her brilliant turn in the latest James Bond movie, No Time To Die. She was terrific in the few scenes she was in in the film. I would have loved to have seen more of her character in that movie.
As for when we’ll get to see Reeves play John Wick again, we’ll see him play the role next in John Wick: Chapter 4, which is filming as we speak and will be released in cinemas on March 23rd, 2023. The film star has also recently agreed to return as John Constantine in a sequel to the first movie he starred in way back in 2005. The sequel will be made by Warner Bros. Pictures and will be directed by Francis Lawrence, who also directed the first Constantine movie.

That film was his directorial debut, and he then went on to make some of the best movies (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire). He also made films such as I Am Legend and Red Sparrow.
