It’s been revealed by Jumanji: The Next Level’s director, Jake Kasdan, that Jumanji 4 is already in development, despite the third film not having come out yet.
Kasdan revealed this during an interview with Collider in which he did claim that the Coronavirus pandemic has caused a bit of an issue for the movie.
Here’s what he told Collider:
We were just getting into the conversation before this global calamity and we will re-engage it as soon as everybody’s settled. We all love working together and we’ve loved making these. To me, the thing that’s always been most critical when talking about a sequel, first in the first movie and now in the possibility of another sequel is, it would have to be exciting on its own two feet in a way that’s comparable to what the first two were for me. I would have to love the idea just as much. So I think there will be a third one and it’s just the earliest days of trying to figure out what that would be.

I’m going to be honest here. I don’t think we need a Jumanji 4.
I thought Jumanji: The Next Level was pretty average.
That was a shame because I really enjoyed the first movie.
I loved seeing Dwayne Johnson playing against type and Kevin Hart wasn’t as annoying as he usually is in it.
I also love seeing Karen Gillan and Jack Black get to have fun and they did in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle.
However, I felt it was all rather formulaic in the second movie.
