Jonathan Majors’ return as the Kang the Conqueror variant Rama-Tut in Marvel’s Moon Knight Season 2 is in question. A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Moon Knight could get another season, and it might feature Majors reprising his role from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Considering Rama-Tut, another Kang variant fits the Egyptian theme perfectly and has been referenced in episode 3 titled ‘The Friendly Type’. One of the henchmen who was trying to attack Marc Spector wore a jacket with a symbol of Rama-Tut.
But Majors’ recent arrest has put the actor’s background under the microscope. He was arrested for assault and harassment in a domestic dispute. Some people on social media had revealed themselves to have worked with Majors before and said that this event would reveal who the actor really is.
So far, it’s not looking good for the actor. Because of it, not only is the actor’s future in question, but it also even affects Marvel’s projects for Phases 5 and 6.
Kang Is Planned To Be Part of Moon Knight Season 2

Jeff Sneider, who is a known reporter and movie insider, has said on The Hot Mic podcast:
I’ve heard that Marvel hasn’t made any decisions regarding Jonathan Majors, but they have either met with or spoken to his agent to discuss potential options going forward.
I’ve heard that he does have a small role in Loki Season 2.
He may also have been part of the plan for Moon Knight Season 2, again, when I say ‘part of the plan’, with Marvel, that could be like a one-scene fucking cameo or something, who knows.
Loki season 2 has already finished filming last October 2022. It’s already going through post-production and is set to be released, possibly around mid to end of summer. Reshooting will take a lot of work. Even if Majors’ roles are minor, it would still need other actors to be available. Also, Marvel has already released Ant-Man 3, which has the end-credits scene teasing Loki’s second season, highlighting Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Jonathan Majors.
Moon Knight, on the other hand (if rumours are true), is reported to start filming by next year. This still gives time for Marvel Studios to decide whether they can have Majors in the show. Will he be recast, or just remove the character altogether?
We also have to consider that Disney is already looking into Marvel and other Disney-related properties and re-evaluating projects on quality over quantity. Marvel has been one of the biggest money makers for the conglomerate, and MCU Phase 4 has produced many projects. Unfortunately, Phase 4 hasn’t really been received well by critics and audiences, and most films struggled at the box office.
Remember that Disney will not hesitate to fire anyone that could potentially hurt their brand.
The Future of Jonathan Majors’ Kang Is In Question

While Majors hasn’t been convicted at this time, projects related to the actor could be held or possibly be cancelled. We’ve seen this happen to Johnny Depp, who was accused of domestic violence and other issues. He lost the role of Gellert Grindelwald to Mads Mikkelsen in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Disney also cancelled planned films for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which Depp is world-renowned for. Even though Depp has won the defamation case, he has still yet to return to the role that made him an icon.
Some are comparing Ezra Miller to why he was able to keep his role as The Flash even though he had several arrests. The most likely reason is that Warner Bros already invested a lot in The Flash film directed by Andy Muschietti. Miller takes on two or more roles which would be difficult to replace. And WBD needed the film to keep people interested in watching the remaining films under the old DC films.
While Disney has money to take some risks, WBD doesn’t have the same resources.
The future of Jonathan Majors returning as Kang is in question. Moon Knight is just one project out of many that are being planned for the actor. He is supposed to return for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
There are other projects that he is set to reprise the role other than that. I was actually impressed to see how versatile the actor is, and I am looking forward to his Victor Timely in Loki. But because of this issue, the future of Majors as Kang the Conqueror is in trouble.
