Joaquin Phoenix is in the headlines again today, but this time it’s not because of his fantastic performance in Joker.
It’s been reported by TMZ that the Joker star was involved in a collision with a fire truck.
They reported that the accident was just a minor one and it happened last Tuesday in West Hollywood.
It was reported that the actor was pulling out of a car park in West Hollywood when his Tesla collided with an L.A. County Fire Department truck.

Thankfully, there was no one in the truck at the time of the collision and nobody was hurt.
Phoenix did something that his Joker character – Arthur Fleck – wouldn’t have done.
He tracked down the paramedics who had parked the truck to inform them what had happened and they sorted things out.
That was very noble of the actor and they traded insurance details and informed the police of the incident.

The damage to the truck was supposedly minimal which was lucky.
Praise is currently being heaped on Joaquin Phoenix for his performance as Arthur Fleck in Joker and there’s already talk of Oscars.
If Phoenix were to be nominated for an Oscar in 2020, he would be the second actor to be nominated for playing the Joker.
Heath Ledger was nominated for an Oscar, and won, for his turn at the iconic DC Comics villain in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.

This wasn’t the case for Jared Leto when he played the role in Suicide Squad back in 2016.
Instead, people were left utterly bemused by his performance which will go down as one of the worst portrayals of Joker in history.
It was reported that Leto was upset and felt alienated by the fact that Warner Bros. didn’t approach him for the role of the Joker in Todd Phillips’ movie.
After watching the movie, I believe that Warner Bros. and DC Comics made the right call in not bringing the actor back for the film.
He just wouldn’t have been right for the character Todd Phillips had in mind. If anything, Phoenix’s version of the Joker is the most subtle and grounded one we’ve ever seen on-screen.
Joker is in cinemas across the UK right now.
