There are rumours that Todd Phillips is thinking of putting Robin or a version of the character in his upcoming Joker sequel (or as I like to call it Joker 2).
This rumour comes from We Got This Covered’s sources, so maybe take it with a pinch of salt.
They claim that Todd Phillips is thinking of brining a version of the character into his upcoming Joker sequel.
I get why he’d want to do it. The Joker and Robin have a few pretty interesting and rather troubling encounters in the comics.
Joker kills him in one Batman comic and then he comes back as The Red Hood.
That’s pretty dark and I do love the idea of them doing a version of that story with Joaquin Phoenix’s version of the Joker.
Will Robin be a good addition to Joker 2?

That said, I highly doubt they’d do A Death In The Family because Phillips has made it very clear in the past that he’s not inspired by the comics.
Phillips’ inspirations lie more with Martin Scorsese movies and less the DC Comics comics.
I get that. It’s something different and I like that.
However, I would really love to see someone bring the A Death In The Family storyline to the big screen.
It would make for an incredibly dark Batman movie and one where you see the Caped Crusader as his lowest point.
