We revealed yesterday that’s a new petition to bring back Johnny Depp as Grindelwald, and it’s now nearing 100K signatures. It really does seem as though people really want to see Depp come back to the Fantastic Beasts franchise. As it stands, the petition has 96,299, which is a huge number of people wanting Depp to be brought back as Grindelwald.
Honestly, as far as Depp is concerned, it’s probably better if he doesn’t return to the franchise. I do not believe that the third Fantastic Beasts will be any good, especially if it doesn’t feature him as Grindelwald.
It was also revealed that Johnny Depp still received his full salary for the movie, and potentially any future movies they should want to make in this Harry Potter spinoff franchise. It’s being reported that Depp’s made $10 million for only having shot one scene in Fantastic Beasts 3. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Honestly, this whole ordeal seems like it’ll be a lot worse for Warner Bros. Pictures than it will be for Johnny Depp. It’s being reported that they’ll have to pay him $10 million just to resign.
They’ll also then have to pay the person they ended up casting in the role. So, this could end up adding quite a big chunk of change to the film’s overall budget. I also think a lot of people are going to boycott this movie for multiple reasons.
There will be the Justice For Johnny people who won’t want to see this film should it not feature Johnny Depp as Grindelwald. There are also the people who’ve been very upset by what J.K. Rowling tweeted a while back (I won’t go into specifics here). I think this third Fantastic Beasts movie could end up losing a lot of money.

There’s no reason to think FB3 won’t be good. The first two were, and the third will have 4 years of work behind it, including Steve Kloves moving from Executive Producer to co-screenwriter with Rowling.
The last two movies were not even good, and I bet the third one will be even worse especially without Johnny Depp in it. Rowling will just do anything to stay relevant these days. Even though the franchise is not that great, I really want Johnny to get back his part and get justice.
