Johnny Depp Fans Start A Petition To Bring Him Back As Grindelwald – It Now Has Over 75K Signatures

A new petition has started online which is demanding that Johnny Depp be brought back as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. You can go and find this new petition on Change.org.

This petition was posted on Change.org after it was revealed that Johnny Depp had been asked to resign as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Depp revealed that he was going to be leaving the franchise via a post on Instagram.

He wrote: “I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros” he stated, indicating this wasn’t his decision, and also fundamentally continues his stance of innocence in the legal proceedings. He continued that he will challenge the court’s decision to “tell the truth” and his “resolve remains strong”.

The petition was started by Lepplady Larson and it’s now got over 75,000 signatures, which is a lot. Here’s what she wrote on the petition:

There’s so much wrong with this that reaches far beyond one role – or two, now that he’s lost Pirates as well. In the end, Johnny will prevail. He’s currently appealing the verdict against him. It’s very likely that he’ll win the appeal, and his upcoming defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, too. He’s still got film roles coming in, his band the Hollywood Vampires is rock and rolling along. Besides which, he has the love and support of the entire world. If anything, the verdict has brought the world closer together in their support of this wrongfully persecuted man.

But the damage is done. Not just to Johnny, but every male survivor of domestic abuse. By finding against Johnny and his preponderance of evidence in the face of Heard’s abysmal lack of evidence, by saying that he believed Amber Heard because she’s a woman, the judge has made it impossible for abused me to come forward in search of support.

And by dumping Johnny, WB sends the message that they support abusers, and have no support whatsoever for the true victim. That’s not acceptable, and we must come together and raise our voices.

Let’s send WB the message that we DO support not just Johnny Depp but every survivor of domestic support, including Men. Demand that Warner Bros do the right thing brings back Johnny Depp back in his iconic role of Gellart Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
