This news keeps on rolling on, and it seems that Disney might be forced to bring Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
He was initially fired from the next movie after allegations were made against him by his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
It was reported that she was a victim of domestic abuse during their marriage.
However, Heard’s claims have since been put into question after some recordings of conversations between the former married couple were leaked.
These phone calls and domestic disputes paint a rather different picture and fans of Depp have since started a petition on Change.org.
This petition demands that Disney rehires Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow following the new developments in the case between Depp and Heard.
The petition has now reached over 155K signatures, which is pretty significant.
It’s not quite as many people as the Amber Heard petition on Change.org.
That petition asks Warner Bros. Pictures to remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 as Mera following the allegations made against her.
The problem is that this is an ongoing case and nothing can be done until things have been settled in court.
Should Johnny Depp be brought back as Captain Jack Sparrow?

This whole battle between Heard and Depp has been very public.
It seems as though it’s been costing the pair jobs in Hollywood.
Johnny Depp has been playing Captain Jack Sparrow since the very first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, The Curse of the Black Pearl, came out in 2003.
He’s since starred as Jack Sparrow in five movies.
It’s pretty clear that he’s the reason why those movies have done so well, so Disney might want to bring him back anyway if they are to make a sixth film.
The petition was made a while back, but it’s seen a huge increase in signatures after the new developments in the Depp vs Heard case.
People have taken to Change.org in their droves and explained why they’re signing the petition.
One person wrote: “Amber beat him and lied about it. Bring him back.”
Another said: “No victim deserves to be treated like the abuser. Disney needs to take a solid stance that they stand by victims side not in their way.”
A third person added: “It’s not fair that his career is jeopardized because he was abused.”
