With the success of the John Wick franchise as a whole, it seems like Lionsgate is moving forward with John Wick 5.
So far, the John Wick films haven’t failed the entertainment company. With a total budget of $210 million from all four films, it has already earned $1 billion. It’s no secret that the company has an interest in expanding the franchise even further. Even way back in the third film, there were already plans for spin-offs.
While John Wick 5 was announced back in 2020, Chad Stahelski, director of the franchise, has said that they’ll reconsider if there is a need for another sequel. Initially, it was planned to be filmed back-to-back with part 4.
But during production, the director wanted to take a break before doing another sequel and was able to finalize the story for Keanu Reeves’ character in part 4. With that, many fans wonder how the series will move forward.
Not too long ago, we reported that Stahelski and Reeves are back together working on a new project, The Pursuit. It seems like the pair are enjoying building the Wick universe, as it seems that a sequel is already moving forward.

Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, is currently in post-production, which has been publicly announced. The film is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4.
Additionally, the TV series The Continental, based on Ian McShane’s character Winston Scott, has already released a trailer and is scheduled to premiere in September of this year.
Regarding other films in the franchise, there are plans for spin-offs such as Akira and Caine, which were teased in the post-credits scene of John Wick Part 4 and featured Rina Sawayama and Donnie Yen.
Another film could potentially revolve around Laurence Fishburne’s character, The Bowery King. A sequel to Ballerina is also in the early stages of planning. Furthermore, there have been discussions about a potential film centred around Halle Berry’s character, Jinx, called Sofia.
