It’s been revealed that the upcoming Dexter revival series will feature John Lithgow back as the legendary Trinity Killer and I’m all for it.
This news was revealed by Deadline and I have to say this it did come as something of a shock for me and many other Dexter fans.
Lithgow played the Trinity Killer back in Dexter Season 4 and his performance earned him an Emmy.
However, the issue is with his reported return is that Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan killed Lithgow’s Arthur Mitchell at the end of that series.
So, the question remains, how will he return in this upcoming Dexter revival series?

There is one way that he could end up returning as the Trinity Killer, and that’s if he’s actually in Dexter’s head.
That would be an interesting way to bring the character back.
However, I know that many fans would rather just see the character return in the flesh, but that won’t be possible.
John Lithgow is such a great actor and he was so impressive as the Trinity Killer.
He was easily the best villain in the whole eight seasons of Dexter.
I for one would welcome his return.
