EXCLUSIVE: John Boyega Is In Talks With WB To Star In A Future DC Comics Movie

It’s been told to us by sources close to WarnerMedia that they are in talks with John Boyega over a possible DC Comics movie role. Now, full disclosure, I wasn’t told which role he’s up for, but I’ve been specifically told that it’ll be for one of their upcoming movies, not TV shows.

I’ve been sitting on this for awhile, waiting for more confirmation from sources I’ve been working with for quite some time now. A number of people who I know to have close ties to WarnerMedia have now corroborated this information that was brought to me by a lone source a few weeks back.

I am very cautious about where my information comes from. I check, and then double-check that my sources are who they say they are, which isn’t always easy. However, I’m pretty confident in this information’s provenance, and I feel confident enough to let you know that John Boyega is in talks with Warner Bros. Pictures regarding a role in the DC Comics movies.

Here’s what the first source with this information had to say about Boyega being in talks with WB:

John Boyega and Warner Bros. are in talks. It’s for a role in a future DC Comics movie. At the moment, I do not know which role he’s in talks for, but it is for the movies – not a TV show.

This information was then corroborated by a number of other sources who I’ve worked with in the past and I do trust. One of them said:

Warner Bros. and John Boyega have been locked in talks for some time now. It’s for a DC Comics role, yet it’s being kept under wraps which role it is exactly.

So, there you have it. John Boyega, as far as my sources are concerned, is in talks with WB for a role in a future DC Comics movie. I’ve been asking them whether they can confirm what the role is. However, they still haven’t come back to me on that one. I will let you know if anything changes.

My first guess was John Stewart. I did write an op-ed a while back suggesting that he would be perfect for the role. John Boyega’s shown himself to be a more than capable actor over the years, and I think he would do the role justice.

There have since been rumours that he’s interested in playing Red Hood after he tweeted about the role a few months ago. That would be an interesting choice, and it could be for a future Batman film alongside Robert Pattinson.

He’s starred in the likes of the Star Wars movies, Detroit, Attack The Block and Pacific Rim: Uprising. He was brilliant in all those movies. He’s also not afraid to say it as it is. He recently outed Disney and Lucasfilm for the way they used actors of colour in their movies. He’s a very interesting man and a very talented actor.
