It’s been revealed that Jodie Whittaker is quitting as Doctor Who after the upcoming Season 13, which will be airing on the BBC this year. This doesn’t come as much of a shock, and now people will be wondering who will take over the mantle.
This news comes to us from The Mirror who are reporting that after three years as the Time Lord Whittaker has told the BBC that she’ll be leaving the show after the upcoming season. This does put the BBC in a rather difficult position as they will now have to look for a new Doctor.
According to The Mirror’s source: “It’s all very hush-hush but it is known on set that Jodie is leaving and they are gearing up for a regeneration.” The insider then revealed that the BBC is already on course to cast her replacement.

The source said the following:
Her departure is top secret but at some point over the coming months the arrival of the 14th Doctor will need to be filmed. It’s very exciting.
There will be a whole bunch of names now, attached to Doctor Who Season 14. I’m going to come up with some of my own, but it would be interesting to see who they end up going with. They made history by casting the first woman in the role of the Doctor. I wonder whether they’ll do the same thing with the upcoming Doctor.
