We recently heard the awful news that Jeremy Renner was involved in a terrible accident and had to be rushed to hospital. We’ve now got some new details about the accident and Renner’s current condition to share with you.
According to Deadline, the actor suffered blunt chest trauma. This happened as a result of “injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow.” It was then revealed to Deadline that Renner had surgery yesterday, and is in recovery.
However, he is still in critical condition. They were also informed that his family is most grateful for the outpouring of his support from fans everywhere.
Here’s what the Hawkeye and Avengers actor’s representatives had to say on Jeremy Renner’s condition, his surgery and the accident:
We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.

His representatives continued:
Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.
It’s also been revealed that Jeremy Renner was actually saved by his neighbours, who witnessed the accident and were immediately on the scene and called the emergency services as soon as possible. It was also reported that one of his neighbours at the scene was a doctor and performed some vital first aid on Renner before the emergency services arrived.
His family thanked “the Carano and Murdock families” in their statement. This all comes after the United States has been battered by a snowstorm over the New Years’ weekend which has taken many lives already. It’s been reported that the snowstorm has killed 60 people in eight states across the United States.

So, the good news is that Renner is out of surgery and in a ‘critical but stable condition’. It sounds like the accident with the snow plow was really horrific. I can’t imagine what his friends and family must be going through right now.
Jeremy Renner has been a mainstay on our cinema and television screens for years. He first came to my attention when he starred in the Oscar-winning movie, The Hurt Locker.
Renner’s then gone on to star as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, and even got his own Disney Plus Hawkeye show in which he starred alongside Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop.
One of my favourite of Renner’s movies is Wind River, which I think is absolutely brilliant. He is also a two-time Oscar nominee and is currently starring in the Paramount Plus series, The Mayor Of Kingstown, which is another great project he’s involved with.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeremy Renner and his family in this very difficult and worrying time. We really hope he pulls through and has a speedy recovery.
