Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner was simply helping a family member when the tragic snow-plowing accident happened. A few days ago, we reported that the Marvel star suffered blunt chest trauma, and the family rushed him to the hospital.
A good number of people know Renner to be a very helpful person, as Reno Mayor Hillary Shieve shared to the Reno Gazette-Journal. So, it was no surprise that he did what he did to help family, regardless of the difficult weather.
Reno got several inches of snow during the New Year’s weekend. The accident happened near the actor’s home close to Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe.
Friends and family know that the Marvel actor has the PistonBully (also known as a snowplow) or Sno-Cat. The Sheriff has stated that there are no restrictions in using heavy equipment on private property. The Sno-Cat weighs at least 7 tons or 6500 kilograms.
And folks know Renner to be a helpful neighbour and regularly uses the Sno-Cat to clear the roads of snow near his area. Two weeks before the incident, he even took a picture of himself with the snowplow and posted it on Instagram.
Jeremy Renner’s Accident Was No Foul Play

During the day of the accident, there was “three feet of fresh snow”, according to Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam. This made it difficult for emergency services to reach him.
But neighbours were quick to help in his aid as the family thanked the “Carano and Murdock families.” Eventually, an emergency team was able to airlift Renner to the hospital.
It’s obvious that Jeremy Renner knows how to use the snowplow. Which begs the question: what happened?
The sheriff has mentioned in a press conference:
Based on our investigation, Mr. Renner’s personal vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, had become stuck in the snow near his home. Mr. Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully or Sno-Cat — an extremely large piece of snow removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds — in an effort to get his vehicle moving. After successfully towing his personal vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak to his family member. At this point, it was observed that the PistenBully started to roll. In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr. Renner attempts to get back into the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the PistenBully. An eyewitness detailed seeing Mr. Renner getting into the PistenBully and not seeing him again until the PistenBully came to a rest in a pile of snow in front of his driveway.
The snowplow is currently impounded for investigation. Currently, they are looking if the snowplow malfunctioned which caused it to roll. The Sheriff also believes that the accident was not intentional stating:
We do not suspect any foul play. We believe this was a tragic accident.
We have reported that Renner himself has given us an update regarding his health on Instagram. He does look messed up, but it’s good that he’s recovering.

Obviously, people in his hometown know Jeremy Renner, but not just because he’s a Hollywood superstar. The Hawkeye actor is helpful in general. Back in December 2021, he said he was building a fire station to help fight fires.
Back in 2019, he also helped the homeless by bringing clothing, blankets, and food to the volunteers to distribute. Tim Doss, a friend of the star has said:
He does a lot of stuff behind the scenes that nobody sees.
He is, by all sense of the word, a hero. Not only through the eyes of Marvel fans, but also through the people who know him best.
Renner is Hawkeye Clint Barton in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He starred in multiple films like The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Endgame.
