Jared Leto And Zack Snyder Developing A Story For A Joker Solo Film

It’s been revealed to us by sources reportedly close to Warner Bros. Pictures that Jared Leto and Zack Snyder are developing a story for a Joker solo movie together. This news comes after it was revealed that Jared Leto was going to be returning as the Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

We then got some new shots of Jared Leto’s look as the Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and he looks very different to the version we got in 2016’s Suicide Squad movie. Before these shots were revealed in a recent interview Snyder did with Vanity Fair, all we had was a very blurry picture of Leto’s new look Joker.

We now have a very brooding-looking black and white photo of Leto’s Joker and he looks very menacing in it. He also looks a little bit closer to Joaquin Phoenix’s version of the character. It’s a kind of a cross between Arthur Fleck and Leto’s Suicide Squad Joker. I think the new look is brilliant. Much more stripped back and simple.

Anyway, it sounds as though Jared Leto and Zack Snyder enjoyed working together so much on the set of Justice League that they are now working on a story for a Joker solo movie together.

What I can tell you is that Jared and Zack are working on developing a standalone Joker story together to be made into a future movie. Things are very, very early days at the moment, but they’re very excited about the idea.

I then asked this source whether this would actually end up being a movie, or whether it could actually be for a TV series on HBO Max:

As it stands, this idea is for a solo Joker movie, but it could very well end up being a TV series. I’ve even heard rumours that they might release this story as a graphic novel. That’s something that both Zack and Jared are very interested in doing.

So, it does seem as though things are in the very early stages of development at the moment, which is pretty darn exciting. We’ve, of course, already had Jaoquin Pheonix’s version of the Joker in Todd Phillips’ Oscar-winning movie, Joker. It looks like DC Films might still be interested in having different versions of the iconic DC Comics villain on the big or small screen.

I personally really like the idea of this coming out as a TV series on HBO Max and then there being a graphic novel version of the story. That would be something that I think Snyder and Leto would also like to do. However, that’s just me speculating.
