Doctor Strange 2, or Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is easily my most anticipated Marvel movie.
I’ve made no secret of the fact that I loved the first Doctor Strange film – yes, I’m one of those rare people who really enjoyed the movie.
I thought it offered something so unique visually-speaking in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I really enjoyed Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, even though he was a bit of a twat and his accent wasn’t great at times.
I liked what Scott Derrickson did with the movie, and I love the fact that the sequel is – according to Derrickson – going to be more of a horror movie than the fist.
Could James McAvoy be cast as Nightmare in Doctor Strange 2?

Marvel’s first-ever horror movie. Count me in! Sounds like a great idea and it’s about time.
Now, there are rumours – courtesy of We Got This Covered – that Marvel is looking at James McAvoy (It: Chapter 2) to play Doctor Strange 2’s villain.
That would be an excellent bit of casting if you ask me. McAvoy is easily one of the best actors working in Hollywood today, and he’s already got experience with comic book movies.
He played Professor Charles Xavier in the recent X-Men movies and he was The Beast in M. Night Shyamalan’s movies Split and Glass.
It might be rather strange for some to see him turn up in a Marvel movie not as Professor X, yet after Disney’s takeover of Fox, those X-Men films have been scrapped, so they could cast him in the MCU.
This rumour came originally from a 4Chan post which was deleted pretty quickly. It was also posted on Reddit and there was a whole slew of famous actors rumoured to be up for parts in Doctor Strange’s sequel.
McAvoy’s not the only name in the mix for the role

It seems as though the likes Eva Green, Natalie Dormer, Emily Blunt and Claire Foy are all being considered for the role of Nightmare in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness .
Yet, according to the post, Marvel is also eyeing male actors for the role such as Ewan McGregor, Dan Stevens, Jared Leto and James McAvoy, to name a few.
Personally, I feel that McAvoy would be the best fit for the role, but I’d love to see Eva Green in a Marvel movie. I think she’s great and would suit the MCU perfectly.
