James Gunn Suggests Adam Warlock Might Not Be In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

There was a lot of talk after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that Adam Warlock was going to feature pretty heavily in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The main reason people thought Adam Warlock might turn up was because he was pretty much in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s post-credits scene.

Anyway, director/writer James Gunn was answering questions on Instagram recently, and one person asked him who would play Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

James Gunn’s answer was pretty clear. He replied: “I never said Adam Warlock was in the movie.”

This suggests that Warlock might not turn up at all, and it’s true, Gunn never specifically mentioned that Warlock was going to be in this third Guardians movie.

However, Vol. 2’s post-credits scene was a clear tease that Warlock would play a part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) moving forward.

Was James Gunn telling the truth about Adam Warlock not being in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

So, the real answer could either be that Gunn’s telling the truth and that Adam Warlock isn’t going to be in the movie.

Or, Gunn’s straight out lying, and Warlock will be in it, or there’s a third possibility.

Marvel Studios might opt to use Warlock in another film, not Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

After Avengers: Endgame, it does look like Thor and the Guardians are going to go on some sort of adventure together, which leads me to wonder whether Adam Warlock is actually going to be in Thor: Love And Thunder, rather than Vol. 3.

That would make a lot of sense, and Taika Waititi would do a great job with that character, whom I believe might end up being played for laughs more than be a villain.

I think Adam Warlock might end up being a very powerful, yet probably also rather camp character, and Waititi would know how to bring that sort of character to the big screen and make him memorable.
