It’s being reported that DC Studios’ co-CEO, James Gunn, has 25 projects currently in the works for his DC Universe, which is an awful lot of projects! However, it should be stated that this isn’t really surprising.
We already know that Chapter One: Gods And Monsters of the new DCU slate still hasn’t been fully revealed yet. We’ve only seen a fraction of the projects that will make up the whole of this first chapter of the revamped DC Universe.
So far, Gunn has announced projects such as Superman: Legacy (which he’s writing and directing), The Authority, Swamp Thing, Batman: The Brave And The Bold and Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow. These are the movies that he’s announced.
James Gunn has 25 DCU projects in development right now

He also announced a bunch of TV shows (animated and live-action). Gunn announced the likes of Creature Commandos, Waller, Paradise Lost, Lanterns and Booster Gold. This means that so far, Gunn has announced ten upcoming DCU projects, and he did state during that reveal that this was just a taste of what’s to come from DC Studios.
He also added that this wasn’t the entirety of the first chapter of the DCU, so there are still more projects to be announced that he’s currently planning and working on. Turns out, he’s working on 25 projects in total; at least, that’s the word on the street at the moment. Knowing how vocal James Gunn is on Twitter, this might be shot down immediately after this article is posted. We now refer to that as being ‘Gunned’.
According to Jeff Sneider of The Hot Mic podcast, Gunn and his team over at DC Studios are working on 25 projects for the DC Universe. Here’s what Sneider had to say on the matter:
Supposedly, the word on the street is that there’s actually 25 projects that James Gunn has, sort of, in mind.
The DCU is looking more exciting than the MCU

That does make sense to me. However, as I mentioned above, Gunn might debunk these claims on Twitter pretty soon after I hit the publish button. We’re just going to have to wait and see what happens.
As for the future of the DC Universe, I am very confident that it’s in safe hands with Gunn. He’s the sort of filmmaker that always wants to make interesting stuff. He’s already proven that he can make fun and unique stuff in the comic book movie genre with his Guardians Of The Galaxy movies, which are still, to this day, some of the best Marvel movies ever released.
The fact that he’s writing and directing the upcoming Superman movie has made me really excited to see what’s to come from the DC Universe. I’m actually more excited about the DCU than the MCU these days, and I haven’t felt that way for a while.
