James Bond Expert Says Henry Cavill Is Too Famous To Play James Bond

A ‘James Bond expert’ has claimed that Henry Cavill is “too famous” to be the next James Bond, and maybe this person has a point. This ‘expert’ revealed this during a recent interview with The Express.

This is something that I’ve been thinking about for quite some time now. Who will play James Bond after Daniel Craig? Craig’s next Bond film, No Time To Die, will be his last. Therefore, they must already be thinking about who. will replace him.

I mean, they must be, even if Barbara Broccoli says they aren’t. It would be very bad planning on their behalf if they aren’t planning the next chapter in the James Bond franchise. One of the names that keeps on coming up for James Bond is Henry Cavill. I personally think he would be perfect. Yet, a “James Bond expert” thinks he’s just too famous for the role.

Here’s what 007 expert Dr. Ian Kinane, editor of the academic peer-reviewed publication International Journal of James Bond Studies had to say to The Express about Henry Cavill being the next James Bond:

Everyone was shocked when it was blond Bond Daniel Craig. But everyone saw Pierce Brosnan coming because he auditioned years and years before. Everyone saw Timothy Dalton coming again because he auditioned years and years before. But Cavill is too big. Unfortunately, it will not be Idris Elba, even though he is perfect. Jamie Bell is a good choice because he performed in a movie called Film Stars Only Die in Liverpool which was produced by Barbara Broccoli. And Jamie Bell is at the right age that Daniel Craig was when he stepped into the role, so there’s potential there.

I’d also say perhaps James Norton, he was in War and Peace and played the vicar in Grantchester, but he has a particular kind of recognizable Britishness that melded I think with a potential to be hardened in a much the same way Daniel Craig has. And then maybe as a slight outsider we might say Richard Madden who was in Bodyguard, as what was Bodyguard but an audition for James Bond really?
