One of Jennifer Lawrence’s very best performances of all time is in a movie called Mother! and people are trying to figure out whether the series is available to watch on Netflix or not. We’ve noticed that quite a few people are searching for it, and we wanted to do two things: Firstly, we wanted to answer the question for people, and secondly, we wanted to find out why all this interest in a movie that was released back in 2017.
So, to answer the very first question: Is Mother! available to stream on Netflix? No. It not. As far as I am able to tell, Mother! is not available to stream on Netflix in territories such as the US, the UK and France.
The second question is why people are suddenly very interested in the movie, and it might have something to do with a trend on TikTok. I’ll try and explain in the following few paragraphs what’s been happening in the strange world of TikTok and why people are very interested in this movie.
Why are people searching for Mother! on Netflix?

So, why are people interested in Mother! all over again? It all stems from an interview that Jennifer Lawrence did for Variety’s Actors On Actors with Adam Sandler.
Here’s what she had to say about the movie during the interview:
We’d be on the tour together, I’d come back to the hotel and the last thing I want to talk about or think about is the movie, and he comes back and that’s all he wants to talk about. I was doing double duty of trying to be a supportive partner while also being like, ‘Can I please, for the love of God, not think about ‘mother!’ for one second?’
Lawrence and director Darren Aronofsky didn’t always see eye-to-eye during the promotional tour for Mother!. Lawrence and Aronofsky were actually dating just after making the movie and during the promotional tour.
Moreover, people have been talking about the movie on TikTok and specifically Jennifer Lawrence’s performance in the movie. One TikToker explained how playing the role really took its toll on Lawrence.
The TikToker explained how during an interview with Vogue, Lawrence revealed that filming got so intense on Mother!, that she hyperventilated and dislocated a rib.
“I ended up getting on oxygen,” Lawrence said in the interview. “I have oxygen tubes in my nostrils, and Darren’s like, ‘It was out of focus; we’ve got to do it again.’ And I was just like, ‘Go fuck yourself.’ ”
Will Jennifer Lawrence ever do another film like Mother! again?

There’s another series of TikToks involving Lawrence which people have started dueting. The TikToks in question have people reacting to Jennifer Lawrence answering the question, which was the most difficult scene to film for you?
Lawrence then answered with the following statement:
Probably the one that you can imagine. I don’t want to say anything and give anything away. (…) I woke up to a surpriuse and ran down the stairs. That was the worst feeling I’ve ever had in my life. It was awful, and I don’t know that I would do a movie that would make me feel that way ever again.
The way that Lawrence shot Mother! was really odd, I have to say. It seems like it was a really intense process, and Lawrence found it very difficult to get in and out of character.
This meant that she ended up staying in character, and she found it very difficult to get out of it. She actually ended up believing that what was happening to her character was actually happening to her.
So, will Jennifer Lawrence ever do something as intense as Mother! again? Well, judging by her response to that question, the answer is pretty obvious. No, probably not. Honestly, Mother! was one of the most intense horror movies I’ve ever seen, and it sounds as though making it was an even more arduous and intense process.
However, this doesn’t mean that Lawrence will never act in a horror film again. She starred in horror movies before making Mother!, and I’m pretty certain she’ll star in some again in the future.
