Invincible Season 3 has already begun production for Amazon Prime Video. This news was revealed by voice actor Khary Payton during a recent interview with The Movie Dweeb host Daniel Merrifield. The actor was asked when fans could expect the Prime Video show’s second season on the streaming platform. Here’s what Payton had to say on the matter:
We finished Season 2, we’re on to Season 3. But, it’s so hard to say right now. There was a glut of animation studios just trying to get so much done, and literally, it was like projects sitting there with a backpack full of, you know, material being like ‘anytime you’re ready.’ You know what I mean?

Honestly, I couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming seasons of Invincible. It was revealed not too long after the first season of the animated series aired that Amazon had already greenlit the two upcoming seasons of the show. The series proved to be a pretty big hit with Amazon Prime subscribers, and it’s no real surprise that it was. People have been dying for this kind of superhero content, and Amazon seems to be the place to find it.
We have this series and also The Boys. It’s interesting to see Amazon put so much behind this sort of content. I’m pretty sure that if The Boys and Invincible were on another streaming platform – let’s say Netflix – then it would have been cancelled after just one season. That would have been a great shame, but I’m also pretty sure that it would have gone that way because the likes of Netflix just doesn’t put as much money behind promoting its content, which is why a lot of it ends up being cancelled way before its time.
Why is this show so popular on Amazon Prime Video?

The new animated series is based on a pretty popular comic book of the same name. The comics were written by The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman. Kirkman also served as an executive producer on the animated series. He explained in May 2021 that part of Invincible’s success is because the series was developed specifically for animation. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:
Every episode was constructed with the knowledge that this would be an animated show and we can use that to the best of our ability. The whole series was conceived in the first place because of it being an animation.
All in all, this is a terrific series, and we here at Small Screen cannot wait to see what’s coming next. And, it’s not like we can just go and read the comics, because they are changing quite a lot of what happened in the comics in this series. I actually think that’s a really good thing and keeps us all on our toes and guessing what’s coming next.
