Indiana Jones 5 Concept Art Shown At D23

Indiana Jones 5 is coming, and we cannot wait to see it! It’s D23 weekend everybody, and we’ve got some concept art from the upcoming Indy movie to check out! Indiana Jones has had a pretty impressive presence at this year’s D23 Expo. The expo is about all things Disney-related, which now includes upcoming Lucasfilm projects, such as the fifth Indy movie.

The expo is happening at Anaheim as we speak and today is the big day because today is the Marvel day. So, we’re going to be getting a lot of big announcements later on today all to do with the MCU. But, before that, they took the time to talk about the new Harrison Ford-led movie. They showed some really interesting concept art from the movie, which you can check out below (via Bleeding Cool).

The upcoming movie is being directed by James Mangold, and it will star the likes of Harrison Ford alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Antonio Banderas. Frank Marshall is producing, and joining Marshall to produce are Kathleen Kennedy and Simon Emanuel. The movie will be scored by the legendary John Williams.

Williams scored the previous Indiana Jones movies, and his score was on the of the reasons why Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull was just watchable. Disney acquired Lucasfilm, which is why this upcoming movie is part of the D23 Expo. However, Paramount Pictures is still involved in production and they have been since Raiders Of The Lost Ark was released. The distribution rights is split between Disney and Paramount globally.

One of the big questions I have is whether this will be the last time we get to see Indy on the big screen? Harrison Ford is getting on a bit, and this franchise has been going on for quite some time. My guess is that there will be more Indiana Jones movie in the not-so-distant future. However, I doubt that Ford will be very involved in the next movies. I have a feeling that this might be the last time we see him wear the iconic hat and whip.

Indiana Jones 5 is slated to hit theatres on June 30th, 2023. So, we don’t have too long to wait before the movie is released! This movie is quickly becoming one of my most anticipated movies of 2023. I’ve long been a fan of the franchise and I just cannot wait to see what Harrison Ford and James Mangold have in store for us. He’s also a great choice of director for the movie. He’s made some incredible movies, including maybe one of the best comic book movies ever made in Logan.
