It’s been revealed that Idris Elba is now the fans’ number one choice to take over as James Bond, a.k.a. 007, after Daniel Craig and No Time To Die, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but it’s not looking too likely that the actor will take on the role.
I honestly cannot think of anybody who doesn’t love or have a bit of a crush on Idris Elba, but then again, why wouldn’t you? The guy is pretty amazing in most aspects. He’s a great actor, a funny guy, doesn’t take himself too seriously and is pretty darn good to look at.
There’s no wonder that he’s often in the conversation when people start discussing who should be the next James Bond, and new statistics courtesy of Ladbrooks suggests that Elba is the people’s favourite to be the next 007 after Daniel Craig’s turn in No Time To Die.

Ladbrokes says that 40 per cent of all bets placed in December as far as the next James Bond actor is concerned have gone to the Luther and The Wire star.
They also say that Tom Hiddleston was the person who came in second place, which shouldn’t really surprise anybody as they are often the first two actors people suggest when offering up potential replacements for Daniel Craig as 007.

The betting company then revealed that 13 per cent of bets being placed for the next Bond are on Tom Hardy.
He’s then followed up by Outlander star Sam Heughan which 6 per cent of bets placed.
So it looks like the public has spoken as far as who they want and think will be the next James Bond, but the interesting thing is that the bookies have Heughan as the odds on favourite to be cast as Bond, James Bond after Craig, who’s priced at 5-2.
Avengers star Hiddleston shared second place in the betting with Bodyguard’s Richard Madden and James Norton, who are all priced at 5-2.
Elba, meanwhile, is quite far back in the betting standings at 10-1, along with the likes of Australian actor Chris Hemsworth and Jamie Bell.

Tom Hardy is even further behind as far as the betting odds are concerned as he’s priced at 8-1.
It also seems as though Elba’s Cats’ co-star, Dame Judy Dench, thinks he should be the next Bond, as she revealed on The Graham Norton Show that they would talk about it on set.
“I knew he was up for it,” she told Graham. “In Cats I had the line to him, ‘You’ll never get to the Heaviside Layer.’
“But, during rehearsals, I said, ‘You’ll never get to MI6,” she quipped.
She then added: “But I think he might.”
