It’s being rumoured that both Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender were approached by Marvel Studios to cameo in WandaVision. This rumour comes from Mikey Sutton over at Geekosity.
There have been so many rumours making the rounds about who will be appearing in WandaVision. This all stems from Elizabeth Olsen’s comments that there would be a Luke Skywalker-esque cameo appearance in WandaVision.
Naturally, the first names that came to mind for people were Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen. Other names included Michael Fassbender and Evan Peters. Well, we saw one of those actors in the recent episode of WandaVision, however, it wasn’t quite Luke Skywalker level of cameo.

Here’s what Mikey Sutton had to say about Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender being approached to play Magneto in WandaVision:
The source told me that both Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender, both of whom played Magneto for Fox, were approached to return as Magneto in WandaVision.
It sounds like this WandaVision series is going to feature one of them returning as Magneto. I’m actually starting to think that it might be Fassbender’s version of the character rather than McKellen’s.

I personally would prefer Fassbender. Not that I would mind McKellen, but if Feige wants a long term solution, then casting Fassbender would be the best choice.
Same case with Professor X. I would adore it if Patrick Stewart was approached (Feige worked with him on the first 3 X-Men movies), but settling with James McAvoy is the best choice in my book.
